actually if you want to be anal about it hardcore is a fusion of metal and punk, which are both different types of rock

I remember this happening to me once. I don't consider myself a big fan of the band at all, but I'm still wondering why the fuck Sevendust isn't considered metal. "Black" anyone? "Enemy" anyone?

See thats the problem opinions, some people say theirs and leave it at that, others tend to be a bit more emotional about it (sure I have been in the past) while others love to add more fuel to the fire.

When someone starts bitching about something you enjoy, and their argument just shows that they're an immature idiot whos complaining for the sake of i, then yeah one tends to get emotional.

It's unbelievable how people actually want to put down other people's taste in music just becuase they simply don't like it or listen to it. I don't care much for rap music or hip-hop or pop, but I don't go around saying "RAP SUX U N00BS!!! GO TO HELL!! METAL 4EVER!!!" That's just plain immature.
It happens to be all the time. Whenever I say I like Slipknot and Nu-Metal, some random asshole will HAVE to counter-post it saying how much Slipknot and Nu-Metal sucks ass. I recall someone saying telling me that today's generation of metal sucks and 80's Metal like Twisted Sister, Guns N' Roses, and Quiet Riot kick ass compaired to them. And, hey, I even like some of those bands.
To that person I have to say this:
If you still call 80's Metal "Metal", you probably work at VH1, because everyone else calls it ARENA ROCK. The only Metal bands form the 80's still considered "Metal" are Slayer, Metallica, Judas Priest, etc.

So, please... everyone... grow the hell up and keep your rude opinions to yourself if they're not going to do anything, but hurt people's feelings who don't even know you. Hell, both of you could be huge fans of many of the same bands... and now you guys hate each other, becuase that guy mentioned that he liked Killswitch Engage and you dislike Killswitch Engage, so you called him a moron for listening to that kind of music, when both of you guys are obsessed with Slayer.

Think about that...

dude i thank you for saying that. i liked the guy one thing that remeinded of me (well because it was me)_ that guy who said Atreyu sucks goes to EVERY (almost) every place i make a post its ridiculous. and i agree slayer metallica and judas priest are good metal but so is twisted sister and quiet riot and all classic rock. and its true people need to learn not to be so immature. i learned that the hard way but i realized it made me a better person. thank you and God bless

thats the fun of the internet all of the elitist bastards are faceless, and need no fear of reprocution(sp?).

i could care less about what particulars of the genres are, and i have been guilty of listening to the occasional nu metal(ill nino, mudvayne, the first drowning pool album...etc)

its the internet who cares?

Actually I posted this right after that whole incident when people went around calling you an ass and telling you to shut up for suggesting bands that they appearantly didn't like. So if it wasn't for you, I probably would never have posted this. XD
