pardon my ignorance, but who are MADs?

Anime Jedi: yeah, you can share it with other ppl if you want, just don't make a $$$ profit from it, like selling at ebay

I use amvs for "filler" when I'm burning anime eps to CD...

So far, I have TONS of digisubs on cd (the ones I liked I bought. The ones I didn't, I gave away...)

And these giveaways have some of YOUR music videos on them. ^_^

I also have 4 master "cds" full of superior anime music videos. Mostly MADs though... ^_^
Slow! Why kind sir, I take that as a compliment.

Newbie question I know

Post by powersurge1720 » Sun Sep 15, 2002 3:44 pm

I'm a newbie to video editing and the like but I have a question that you guys may be able to answer. How can I convert and burn AMV's to VCD formatt? I too have a folder FULL of AMV's and I'd really like to watch them in my DVD player in the living room. (*Drool ErMaC's Eva Trailor and Life is but a Dream videos on TV *drool*) Is there any good conversion tools out there? I know they have to be a certain rez/bit but I'm a newbie at it so can anyone pplleeeasseeee help a poor newb out that likes to watch your works?

I bring this up because my hard drive is getting pretty full and I don't want to lose any of your great music videos. I was curious if I could burn them all to CDs, like a backup. It's not like I'm going to sell them, like those you see on eBay (there were a few threads about his before).

Also, would I be able to burn them and give them to a friend, without any money being involved?

I understand that when money becomes involved, the whole thing becomes pretty much illegal, but what happens when there is no money involved?
Legally you shouldn't even HAVE AMVs unless you have the song and the anime. Then you shouldn't destribute them (cept to ppl that have both the original music and anime... and they have to have PAYED for the originals... not just rented, no you can't give it to them). Legally you can't even have a Garage sale... as you can see this legal $**** is a bunch of crap.

Basically do whatever ya want with these cept deface them (less you wanna be mean...)

I use Nero, it does it automatically, most burning tools do... but if not they will have to at least have the capability to burn to vcd format. from there you will have to choose videos that are encoded to mpeg format. You can encode videos from avi to mpeg format yourself using TMPGenc. wmvs, movs and ra's just suck cus they can't be changed into an mpeg.

In that case I recomend you purchase Ulead DVD Producer. IT makes VCDs quite easily and has a very simple setup that is VERY user friendly. It took me less than a minute to figure out the setup of this thing. They have a demo version on their site so you can try it out for thirty days.

Looks like you're in the same boat as a lot of us. We just don't have the money to spend on this expensive way of life.

Sorry, but I'm a little unclear on the question. Don't get me wrong, it's straight forward. But I probably use a different word than freeware. So could you give me an example of freeware if you know of one?
