Alright the Winners announcement

Post by Illia Sadri » Tue Apr 12, 2005 4:57 pm

Alright time to go on with the winners. And some odd observations this year. There were quite a few of them.

1.) For the first time in a long time a romance video has won best in show by a popular vote. It's rare in general but to see it happen not by judges but by attendees is rare

2.) Action winner was someone's first amv and actually was made in Windows Movie Maker.

3.) Trailers had been neck in neck the entire time between three of the four videos. The winner was by a single vote.

4.) Drama was also a single vote win. Two categories to have that is rather uncommon.

5.) We had 5 AMV showings through the con, 4 of them were for voting. All showings were well attended.

6.) Very few comedy videos were submitted as only three played. (2 others were disqualified for content one had nudity and another ran 8 and a half minuites long)

7.) 4 videos were listed as Various Audio. Two used spoken dialogue from the show either in english or japanese versions. One person had no clue what his audio was and was listed as unknown.

8.) Two VHD: Bloodlust videos, both in trailers. We also had 4 Naruto videos in three categories. And two Kenshin videos were both in Drama.

OMG What the hell? VicBond goes Disney. Dwchang look what you have started. This is worse than... than well I can't think of anything right now, but it worse than alot of things going on. Disney is invaiding the amv world. "It's the end of the world as we know it...." To quote Zarzax "Scream!"

People loved it. Honestly everyone loved all the trailers. Ashyukun's Bubblegum Crisis Streets of Fire was also dead behind you. It was like a vote each time on those. Basically that was the hardest category to guess a winner. They were good.

OMG! i placed in something :D

The thing that' s even funnier is that my vid was so poorly geared to one single category... I though of it as action primarily and actually sumbitted it as such to a few cons

I guess the lack of real comedy helped, huh?
