Heavy Metal Christmas
As a joke me and a friend at work thought of something funny (at least to me).
You know there are many pop and country bands/artists who always tend to release christmas albums, or even a compliation groups doing christmas music.
We thought, what if there was a christmas compliation full of classic chirstmas music done by metal bands. At first we only played around with the thought of just Iced Earth (the album would be called "The Christmas Show"-parody of The Horror Show with Santa Claus in the place of the demon.). Then we thought what if it was a miz of metal bands.
What metal band do you think would best play a christmas song? Here is what we came up with.
1) Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer (Iced Earth)
2) Jingle Bells (Megadeth)
3) Silent Night (Nightwish)
4) Sleigh Ride (Kamelot)
5) Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (Blind Guardian)
6) Little Drummer Boy (Motorhead)
7) Deck The Halls (Iron Maiden)
8) Winter Wonderland (Alice Cooper)
9) O Come All Ye Faithful (Slayer)
10) Frosty The Snowman (Anthrax)
11) Let It Snow (Evergrey)
12) Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Pantera)
13) I'll Be Home For Christmas (Metallica)
14) Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (Strapping Young Lad)
15) Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (Judas Priest)
16) Jingle Bell Rock (Threshold)
And no I am not on drugs

Of course, this is not complete without the few Christmas tracks ever recorded by metal bands: King Diamond's "No Presents For Christmas" and Spinal Tap's immortal "Christmas With The Devil"*.
I can just see the Blind Guardian one...but that's probably the flashbacks from their
"Mr. Sandman" video.

*no, I do not actually own Break Like The Wind.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

I'm thinking probably not.flint_the_dwarf wrote:Can you please shut the fuck up?
Oddly, thats exactly what I was thinking, though upon further thought, it would be more appropriate to think of Surfin' USA. I would actually almost be horribly intrigued by Nightwish's take on Silent Night, and would actually WANT Barlow to sing Rudolf, instead of Ripper, since Priest already has a track.Kai wrote:I can just see the Blind Guardian one...but that's probably the flashbacks from their Shocked "Mr. Sandman" video.
