I buy anime simply because it isn't on TV in New Zealand.

I buy anime that I think I'll like, or that I've seen before.

I don't buy anime that I've seen and don't like, otherwise I'd give almost anything a chance.

I usually read descriptions and reviews andbase my decisions on that.

I HATE it when people base everything on the ending. Some people are like "Before I buy a series, I have to first download every episode of it and watch it, and then if I like the ending, I'll buy it. But even if I like it, but hate the ending, I won't buy it."

Hell, I am just not a big fan of the try before you buy users in general. If it's licensed, you shouldn't be downloading it. Just read somer reviews. If you're so paranoid about people reviewing it in a way that it'll appeal to you even if it sucks, you might as well jsut stop buying anime, cuz you're probably too damn picky anyway.

But that's off the topic... this is about why I buy/don't buy, and not about my pet peeves with the general anime public, which is mostly early teens without jobs appearently.

My morals on downloading anime are very tight, if you couldn't tell. :P

You could always rent it if you want to see it before you buy it. . . assuming you can find it at the video store. Some are better at stocking anime than others.

I've never bought any anime. Why buy when you can get for free, or borrow your friends' copies? Shop smart.

Yeah I'm one of those friends ("friends" mooch off of me)

If I see the anime in an amv and I like what I see, then I'll look up a review. That's pretty much how it goes.

I try to avoid taking gambles. I hate it when I end up with an anime with bad dubs and a bad story.

Reasons to buy:
- AMVs
- Description on the back of the DVD case or in Newtype sounds cool
- Attractive girls on the front

Reasons not to buy:
- Bad reviews from at least 2 reliable sources
- Description sounds boring or something I don't want to bother with
- Lack of money

I mean if you think about it, <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=an ... ">anime</a> series, legally, cost a lot. I have spent 200 dollars on Neon Genesis Evangelion. That's the whole thing, series, remakes, and <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=mo ... >movies</a>. I mean if you work and your paychecks are around 300-400 dollars that is nearly half your pay check if not more. So, I am only wondering why yo ubuy certain <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=an ... ">anime</a> series.
I don't know where you're buying from but you need to <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=se ... >search</a> more. I bought the entire Cowboy Bebop Series with the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=mo ... ">movie</a> (Brand new, never opened) for about 20. Then I found some soundtracks, original versions, and the best of DVD at a fair and purchased them for around 20

So all I'm saying you need to <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=se ... >search</a> for better places to buy, and even try others besides the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=in ... nternet</a>.

P.S. They were entirly <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=le ... ">legal</a>
COWBOY BEBOP
The work. Which will become a genre in itself, will be called...

I rent everything first so I can make a fair judgement whether to buy it later or not.
