I actually had much the same reaction when I heard that on the radio a ways back and thought, "Damn this would be a funny AzuDaioh video!" Let me know if you ever make it!kitsunebeolnet wrote:MadNavigator wrote:I need more pudding. But how will I get any pudding if I don't eat my meat?

Just yesterday I heard that on the radio and started thinking "Azumanga Daioh, Sensei No Ojikan, Onegai Teacher..." AMV idea in the works.
How do you judge success?

I don't know. I really don't have any overall general standard for "success." I guess it depends on the goal, which varies from video to video. My first was experimental. My second was a more serious attempt. My third was made for someone else. And my fourth, which is currently in post-production....well I don't know what I'm going to do with it. At the moment I'm just glad that the editing process is over. I was getting really frustrated with it.
I don't hate my work. After each completed project (even my experimental one) I had a feeling of "Wow! I made that?!" And I'm certainly getting better at this. So as long as I keep improving myself doing what I want and doing it my way...I have no complaints other then then usual "AHHHHHHH Why won't this piece of crap work!"

If so , what's the song name?
On topic :
For me success it's make improvements in every new vid that I make , doesn't matter how much effort I put into a vid , I know that I will always still have room to make improvements.
But , success it's something , that every one of us need everytime we try hard to do things (yeah amvs
Nothing usefull here .

Don't you know? Even old people make se... I mean AMVsVoices_Of_Ryan wrote:I thought you quit cause you where too old = \?
In a serious note , I was actually close to quit on making AMVs , but sorry not this time , because the ammount of work in my job has decreased , so , know I have a bit more time to edit again.
Why edit again? Because I know that there is a few people out there who enjoy my vids , but hey let's try to don't spam this thread with things that doesn't matter to say in a thread about success

But honestly it has ALOT to do with how success is seen, or in this case achived. Because if you had really quit JUST because you thought you where too old. We wouldnt have obsession =o.
So relizing you werent too old, made you achive something better.
It's like when people say a 13 yearold cant make a good amv.
S'not true.

Succes? Success in what? Creating a good vid? Making one other people like? Winning awards?
If I judge succes of making a good vid, that's 80% my personal opinion and 20% the opinions of people I at least somewhat know.
If I judge succes of making a vid other people like, I'd say it's 66% review rating, 34% how many people "hear" about it through friends and DL it (total DL is OK at judging this), and 33% how people recieve it at a con (or how it ranks if the audience is judge).
If I judge success on winning awards, well, count 'em up.
Note, I've only made 2 complete vids (one "good" one) and have never submitted anything to a con. This is just my "if-then" opinion.

Sometimes the simplest answers are the best.raptor_thirteen wrote:if i get an opinion, that means i done good.
In my oppinion you should not mesure a video by some standard of success, you should mesure the standard by the video.
Was the video a success? Of course it was. The real question is: in what way did it succeed, and wether that was the way you intended.
Every video does something.
