Good point. I should rephrase that. Not all ADV dubs are bad.

This one isn't too bad though. The acting is pretty good.

There's only one part in the dub that bugged me.
Scene: Rossette and Chrono are digging around in a bush for Rossette's gun.
R-It's not here
C-That only means one thing then.
R-What?
C-That it's not here.
This was said in all seriousness (no humor intended).

Are there any good ADV releases period?

After buying their Sailor Moon(first series) box set I'm afraid of buying anything else from them. :/

I saw an ad of that in a magazine...it looked interesting. I'll have to watch that clip when I get home(otherwise all the okies in this writing center will ATTACK ME!!!);_;.

Good ADV dubs (from what I've seen)
RahXephon
Saiyuki dub was decent
Eva dub was...okay
Excel Saga
Full Metal Panic (decent)
and of course Chrono Crusade (to keep this somewhat related to the topic).

*Sigh* I suppose it's futile to convince sub watchers that some dubs are actually good.
It's impossible for a dubing company to have perfect dubs all the time.

Ok, I think this was all from the first few episodes, definately the first 10, so I don't think it's a spoiler. But if you're that worried, skip on.

Sister Rosette Christopher joined the order of magdela (a demon-slaying order) so that she could hunt down demons and search for her lost brother, Joshua, who was taken by them. Her partner Chrno (who is tolarated by the order) is a demon who lost his horns (demonic power source) in a fight with some other demons. Since he has no natural power source, he uses a contract with a human (Rosette), so that when he needs his demon power, he sucks some of the life force from the human. He stays looking like a kid the rest of the time because it doesn't take energy, and he doesn't want to kill his contract. (At first, I thought this would end up like a magic transformation of the day thing, but it's thankfully only a few times in the series that he uses his power.)

Series starts with Rosete as a novice, given missions to get minor demons. Typical weapons are blessed bullets with holy water in them, and holy water hand grenades. Sometimes, special bullets are used. Later, she gets promoted and gets involved in more major demons.

Very good series, with some good character development, and plot twists. And Azmaria is just adorable. Think I'll stop there, lest I say too much.
