I think I have in the range of $600 which for anime isn't much but oh well, as for manga I have the Mars series and Ragnarok

i have about 70 dvd's and only the translated copies of Hellsing and Berserk in manga

for only collecting anime for 8months and manga for 2, i think thats pretty good.

going to get kensin and 5-8 of X this weekend

I would say "best" and "biggest" are two entirely different things. I only have about twenty dvds, pretty small collection, but I like what I have. Biggest is affected by your finacial status, position in life and how obsessed you are. Students don't often have the finances to collect what they would like, later in life they may have the means but no longer have the obsession. My son is 27 yrs old and since he has graduated from college has collected over 1200 anime dvds. It's all in what's important to you and what you can afford.

Put together a decent collection so far, has to be over 200 DVDs, probably coming towards 300 by now. Not all that many series though, since a lot of the DVDS are from long TV series(Ranma 1/2, You're Under Arrest, Urusei Yatsura, etc.)
