red blue and green oh my

Post by Maver » Sun Aug 08, 2004 1:32 pm

yeah i'm watching some dvds on win xp using power dvd (5 or 6 not sure) and i noticed that outlaw star dvd looked pretty bad, i mean on adult swim it was pretty bad but this looks just as bad as the adult swim one. looked like it was copyed off a vhs tape. so i took a screen capture and showed it to one of my anime buds and he says he didn't see any colors so i'm wondering if its just my graphics card (first i thought it was my monitor but i've tried both crt and lcd same thing) so you guys tell me do you see red blue green red blue green overlays (horzontal) to the black line?

Yeah, rainbowing is a source issue.

If you want to see bad source, though, look at the Ah! My Goddess OVA.

many of the eps on the first few DVDs of the US release of Trigun have this rainbow problem. its a regular pain, and not all that easy to get rid of (suggest any linkage kalium?). it makes the footage look pretty shoddy because it tends to make the image "flicker"
