My ideas come with the influence of booze.
The more I drink the better the video; or so it seems at the time.

well as of late my previous method of aquiring inspiration has been failing me, so i have taken to sacrificing several(as opposed to just one at a time before) small children to the AMV Gods. hopefully this act will not go unnoticed in their eyes and they shall grant unto me the ambition and inspiration to create my videos.
i'll get back to you folks, and let you know if it works or not

Best case scenario: I search for songs that would go well in a video, that offers alot of visual possiblities. Then I find an anime or two that fit that song.
What's happend a few times: I just want to make a video, action, serious, whatever, so I throw together something. I'm usally disappointed when I do this and I've never posted a video of this nature.
What happens next: I'm inspired to do better.(see Best case scenario)

I usually get my best ideas by listening to music and watching other AMV's, although that's probably what everyone says, It's true. I had a huge music taste and I love pratically everything...almost
. It's good to watch other AMV's too, to see the ideas that other people had, you can always tell when an AMV had a lot of thought and feeling into it, when it actually fits the purpose it was made for. IE: Recently I downloaded a Sailor Saturn AMV called Solitary, and you don't really see too many decent Sailor Saturn AMV's, because she's such an overly used character. (Either that or we see hardley anything of her) But I can tell that this video was thought about. Besides it is really good quality =D

My ideas usually come from one of two places:
Idea inspired by something in anime(sometimes not even the anime itself, just some concept in it). Then figure out a good song for it, or if I can't think of one just wait till I hear the right song.
Completey random crap that pops into my head for no apparent reason. My current AMV(hopefully to be finished for the AWA contest) is a good example of this.
