Artist talkback?
Just curious if you folks had any interesting experiences where you've actually gotten in touch with your favorite artists and had a question or comment you addressed by them in some way. I don't mean like, high-fives or 'thanks for the support' stuff - more like an interesting, two-way conversation where both had something interesting to say.

One of my posts from an internet fan-community got into Robert Fripp's (a guitar legend of an odd, philosophic kind) diary the other day. I commented about audience disappointment and the nature of performance based on one of his notes and an experience I had at one of his concerts; he replied back commenting on artist disappointment and the nature of performance based on recent performing experience. I thought it was true, if somewhat obvious.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I actually got to talk to the artist i'm working on my awa professional video for.
Really nice guy (won't mention names, just cause it's blind judging), but short and sweet, the guy was nice.
I doubt he cares that anyone made a video to his music though, he seemed more worried about girls than anime (as any normal guy should be =O).

Awesome, so you actually met that guy, huh. (hmm, I thought you told me who he was, but I might have forgotten. Or is it a secret for everyone?)
Good luck on AWA btw dude

I've actually been in contact with band members from Mercenary, Blind Guardian, Elvenking, Leprechaun, Freternia, and to a lesser extent, finntroll and Nightwish. Most bands would recognise me if I mentioned I was nailz. In fact, thats how Marcus of Blind Guardian knew me after one of their shows.

I know that many of you are not into rap, but I did get a chance to chop it up (hang out) with an rapper named DAVID BANNER. He was quite engaging I might add. I can honestly say he is a complex individual. He even took me to a club with him.
David (which is what I can call him now) is from the great state of Mississippi (so am I, wanna fight about it). He graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He was elected as SGA president in college, which I thought was pretty cool. He is 6 credits away from his Master's Degree at the University of Maryland.
The thing is if you saw or heard him, you would get a totally wrong impression of him. He is smart, funny and a hell of nice guy.

hehe.. Sorry mate. Just gotta have a shitload of free time, find bands that are realitively new, are pretty good, and promote them like no ones buisness. Thats how I befriended a lot of the Elvenking members. It helped that I was totally into their music, they had a great personality and were willing bend over backwards for their fans.
