Pretty decent list you got there.
Ok, if you're going for the absolutely corny, but rather VERY fun series to watch, I highly recommend Gatekeepers; second corniest would be Read or Die OVA.
For in depth character development and some military/political drama, I would go for Gasaraki and Crest of the Stars (stay away from the Crest of the Stars dub; it's WORSE than the Love Hina dub).
Escaflowne is SERIOUSLY recommended since there's lots of geres within the series like mecha action, character development, romance, and so forth. X TV has almost the same things except it have mechas. Both series have very high animation especially for a TV series.

Noir is a wonderful series. It starts off slow, but if you watch the whole series and rewatch the first episodes they're more entertaining than they were before. Very well done series.

I personally enjoyed the Escaflowne movie greatly. The main reason I've heard of people not liking it is because they changed around the story and their favorite characters (including character designs) a bit. Also, the Ultimate Edition of the film kicks ass all over the place.

Ehh...I didn't mind it so much. It was alright. But the series is better, I think.Tsunami Jones wrote:Yukina_Raven wrote:I'd have to say the Escaflowne series is the best. Don't buy the movie, though. I thought it was pretty bad, except for the soundtrack.

I'll comment on a few...But I won't say anything profound...
Big O - I only saw a few episodes, but they were good.
Crest of the Stars - I love it so much. The entire thing is good.
Escaflowne Series - I hated it because of the female main character...
Matantei Loki Ragnarok - Uh, this is a show for girls about a cute guy. I wouldn't reccomend it...
X TV the series - This is also for girls...

I saw Escaflowne the movie but since i haven't seen the series, i found it pretty good. Althouigh the graphics seemed a little bit unclear at times.... Maybe it was just the version i saw...who knows...
