Okay, then how the HELL do you do you take a wide screen source, cram it into 640x480 or some other resolution that dosn't match the aspect ratio of the source, and instruct the player to resize during playback so the aspect ratio is correct.

Cause I'd like to know this.

Isn't there an aspect ratio setting in XviD? Never tried it though.

Scratch that, while XviD -does- support it, the AVI container dosn't support it. Apparently, if you have the 3vix filters installed, it will be able to do that.

if you have another definition of anamorphic......so no.

The problem is that DirectShow does not read those values (at least the DirectShow documentation does not mention support for this feature).
So... It's possible, it just dosn't WORK? -.-;

Well Mpeg 4 AR works with 3ivX, XviD, and NeroDigital. What else you want? :|
