Post by Maver » Mon Jul 12, 2004 11:32 am

well i've got this

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... =tech-info

Studio: Geneon Entertainment

and i've got this

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ance&s=dvd

Studio: Bandai Entertainment

the only difference besides the first having all the eps is the studio that both of them are made by. differn't studios mean that maybe one is uncut? or somthing of that nature? or is the first one just taking the same dubs as bandai and using them? heck i have no idea wat i'm talking about :? , are they just differn't in anyway :?:

Pioneer would be the one to stick with. They did awesome shit like Armitage III: Poly Matrix, and other awesome animes.

I *Think* the only copmlete set you posted was the first link (The black and yellow box). The other 2 are only 1 out of 3 things. I'd still check with someone else though who possibly owns it themselves because there may in fact be an edited/not edited type thing...yah. :)

Well, the pictures are all correct, but Outlaw Star was released in Region 1 by Bandai Entertainment, not Pioneer (or Geneon as they are now called in here).

On DVD, Outlaw Star was originally released as three 2-disc sets and then later in a boxset with the entire series. According to the Bandai website, the retail prices for the individual 2-disc releases is $29.98 and the boxset is $59.98. Both releases should include 6 DVDs though.

I would try to contact them and ask them about specifics to see if they can get their facts straight. If they can't even do that, I'd be kind of leery of them.
