just a few questions

im using the Windows Movie Maker and i have a few questions.

1. is there any paticular to fade from one clip to another, so i can add a better effect.

2. is there some way to like save the footage from a DVD onto the computer, cause i cant d/l any since i only have dial up, and the footage i have is scarce so it makes it harder to make a decent video.
