HELP? New Anime Classification

Hello,

I have a question...

I've created a new AMV to put up onto the site, but I'm not exactly sure how to classify the footage. It's not a source listed in the anime list.

Technically, the source is promo CGI videos for the PC game Lineage 2 (an MMORPG). The videos themselves are not part of the actual game, but are promo material for the game found publically on the game's official web site.

How would I classify this as a new Anime??? Can I classify it?

You could just mention the source in the blurb.

I'm assuming it's not JUST Lineage 2 promo footage. Because according to the definitions of 'anime music video' on this site, the source must be made in Japan. Lineage is a Korean game, and from what I recall, not very anime-esque (more like Diablo II)....so, I'm not sure if it fits the classifications or not.

The game itself, as far as I played it, has no CG, therefore the footage is public promo footage (like that shown at E3 convensions) downloaded off the Lineage 2 public site.

As to it's anime-esque-ness, that is completely a matter of a persons point of view. I can easily see Lineage 2 (and diablo for that matter) having been developed by japanese programmers and (more specifically) artists.

I am unable to store the video off site. My current web space provider does not allow me (for what I can afford) the bandwidth required to be able to host a full on video from that site. (I know because I tried that with my first AMV and it blew out my monthly bandwidth in less than a week) Therefore, my only viable method of hosting the video is through the Org itself.

In my opinion, it would easily fit in this site and it's materials, considering the number of game based AMVs on this site.

Please, I would really like to post this video. I think people would like it, I just don't want to be hit with some rule violation (because I don't think this video would break the rules... but I'm not sure)

ah, but you will not be able to participate in the VCAs next year if you list it, or so I'm told. So if that matters to you...

I'm assuming that what people have said is true, that it's not Japanese, in which case technically for the purposes of this site, it is not anime, and therefore not allowed, however anime-like or otherwise Japanese-influenced it may be. Not that I mind really.

Also, if you list a new source, you have to get an admin to confirm thaat it's anime in order to upload locally. So, sadly, I think you're out of luck.

I will have to e-mail the admin then, just to be absolutely safe

But if this is all true and I am unable to post my video purely because the video source is korean, I am greatly saddened.

I'm the admin and I can confirm that korean titles are not classified as anime at this time. So no "My Beatutiful Girl Mari" or anything like that either.

Wow... lol... You're almost like Big Brother, Absolute. Of course, I did mention a different title and nothing quite so mundane.

Oh well, perhaps things will change in the future, I mean, if Eva is being done by New Zealanders now... lol... you never know.
