lame acm causes crashing in UMSP7
for some reason the act of installing the lame ACM codec causes UMSP7 to crash for no apparent reason...any clue as to why its causing the crash?

Installation of some codecs I've found conflict with Ulead's software and will cause the programs to crash on startup. From my experience I've so far found some older versions of DivX and, for some reason, CinePak will do this. Only solution I've got is to unistall the codec or program using it.
You can go to Control Panel and use Add/Remove Programs. If this fails you can try deleting the codec from Windows by going to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Sound Video Game Controllers, Video Codecs, Properties. Delete the incompatible codec.
I don't really have a way of determining which one is incompatible. My system runs MSP fine, we'll assume the codecs on my system are okay and are probably needed by Media Studio. Any others may need to be deleted.
DivX 5.11
iccvid.dll
Indeo Video 5.11
ir32_32.dll
ir41_32.dll
iyuv_32.dll
msh261
msh263
msrle32.dll
msvidc32.dll
msyuv.dll
tsbyuv.dll
Hope that helps.
