.hack//DUSK and Cyborg 009 on Cartoon Network

Post by angelx03 » Thu Jun 17, 2004 12:47 pm

From what I got from the Anime News Network:
CN Premieres (2004-06-17 13:24:11)
Friday night / Saturday Morning will see the Cartoon Network premieres of .hack//DUSK (Legend of the Twilight Bracelet) at 1:00am and Cyborg 009 Season 2 at 1:30
Hopefully my digital cable box will get fixed so I'll be able to check out .hack//DUSK. :?

Is it true that this .hack series is a LOT more cutesy?

From glances at the manga it would appear so.

All of the characters in .hack//DUSK are in super-deformed mode. Can't get more cutesy than that.

It seems like I won't be able to watch it (stupid Tele-Media and their damn cable problems  ) so anyone who has a chance to see, can you tell me how it went?

I saw the first episode. It is more kiddy looking and less mysterious than the first .hack, but not so much so.

Watching the kid getting beat up by a level 1 plant thingy was good for a laugh too.

i agree. thought it was too kiddy as well. when the main characters look SD and everyone else isn't is kinda dumb to me. I think that i'll just read the manga instead. maybe the main reason is that i've played the .hack games. and i have an image of how Kite and Blackrose really are. plus the voices aren't all that great either.

Based on the first episode, I would say .hack//DUSK and .hack//SIGN mirror the Battle Athletes TV series and OAV respectively. The Battle Athletes OAV and .hack//SIGN are generally more serious, sometimes intense series, though with lighthearted parts and comedy here and there. Battle Athletes TV series and .hack//DUSK have a basic plotline that suggests seriousness, but most of the series probably isn't going to be very serious, more like comedy-focused in fact. Heck, both those even have superdeformed characters on a regular basis... Mmm, good comparison.

Anyway, that's basically what it will probably end up being. I'll watch it anyway, cause it is pretty funny, and funny is good. :)
