Meaningless lyrics: Do they add anything?

I actually thought of lyric-synching some non-english songs...

Well, in reality, I don't think lyric-sync is a requirement. It's usually a plus, but I would let even a well-edited English video get away without lyric-sync.

The one time I tried a japanese song I not only did lyric-syncing, I also did lip syncing. Of course I had the benefit of a (bad) translation, some english lyrics (well, as close to english as jpop gets), and a song that's easy to understand the theme of. Regardless of all that, the video pretty much serves as proof that even though you can sync non-english songs you probably shouldn't...

And if you know the language being synched?

Well, obviously the other people around here are not likely to get it anyway, but I think the result would at least be plausible to the creator...

Depends on if you make videos for yourself or others. Which is an entirely different arguement that I'm not going to get into again.

One thing I forgot to mention, I've seen translations to many Jpop songs now and I'm starting to become convinced that japanese view lyrics as a semi-random word game rather than something that should make sense (go watch the Dragon Half closing to see what I mean). Lots of luck syncing with them...

if you're looking for romaji (for whoever is looking for one, romanji ones aren't too hard to find because romanji doesn't exist and is a common misspelling of romaji), I've found an online translator (took me a good long while). Just beware that all of these babelfish, freetranslation, etc are literal ..and kind of not "real" translations, just a general idea.
