Looking for an action series

Almost all the videos I've made have been Drama/Romance, and I'd like to make an action video, but I haven't seen a lot of action anime series/movies. In fact, the only series I've watched with a lot of action in it is Naruto, and I can't make a video to that until it's released over here. So any suggestions for some good action series to watch?

To fit the song that I have in mind, it would help if the main character (or at least one of them) is male (preferrably an angsty one ^^), and if the story could possibly involve an imprisonment and/or escape.. But I'm open to suggestions that don't necessarily fit that also.

Also, just to give you an idea of what I like, these are some of my favorite series (they're not action, but maybe they'll be helpful anyway):

Pretear
Azumanga Daioh
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Fushigi Yuugi

It would be really helpful if you could tell me a little about any anime you might suggest too. ^^ Thanks in advance.

I really haven't seen that much of it, but it sounds like something like D.N.Angel might work. You can find some more info on it here.

Go for Scryed. I've heard that one has come over here, and I think it has most of the stuff you're looking for. I should mention, though, that the main male guy (who gets imprisoned at one point) isn't the least bit angsty; he's confident to a fault, mostly making everyone else angsty.

But he's angsty in his confidence! And Ryoukou (or whatever his name is, I haven't watched the series since I made my Scryed vid) certainly has angst...

Scryed *has* been released by Bandai, I think the final volume might already beo ut...

Definitely H E L L S I N G hehe and I love Cowboy Bebop as well, both amazing action series. I would highly recommend both of them, Hellsing seemed to --> ME <-- to have less of a storyline then Cowboy Bebop so if your more into storylines then CB may be your type. Hope this helps! =]

Maybe "Blue Gender" but i've only seen one episode.

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. I'm planning on going on a renting spree this weekend, and watching the first volumes of several of the series mentioned here.

By the way, IcyCloud, your icon really freaks me out...

Heh, Kogepan strikes again.

After watching the series though, I somehow find the little guy cute.
Besides, Otohiko's old avatar with the melting guy takes the award of creepiest ever. Damn thing could give ya nightmares.
