Ah nice to see the project is back going strong. (not that it ever slacked....)

Anyway, between yesterday and today, I made a preview of the general feel for what my *new* video idea was, and uploading it to the project ftp, for you guys to check it out. Let me know if you want to include it into the project, if there is even space for it, or replace the other one with this one, or just keep the first one.

Oratorio of Ghibli - Flying
Anime: Cat Returns, Laputa, Kiki's Delivery Service
Song: James Newton Jhon : Flying
Concept: Just scenes from a few of the ghibli titles timed to the instrumentals, scenes that are alike between the movies are put together. There is no real centralized story, just an allaround feel-good ghibli amv.

This was actually my original idea for the project, but didn;t have a good song for it, and so went with the other one, until I discovered the PeterPan soundtrack afterwards. I'm going to finish up both vids, but I will set priority to wichever you want for the project. Or if you want both, I pretty sure I can finish both for the deadline aswell.

Let me hear some opinions ^_^
I'll upload to both ftps if they are up.

Rose4Emily - I fixed the file permition problem and put my video in the right place. I'm also uploading to yours but it's going to take awhile. BTW For some reason I was able to get "the Alchemist" but not yours or songbird's.

Bakadeshi - The first file uploaded succesfully and I've moved it to the "in Progress" section. At least the FTP is working for one person.

BTW a glitch in my WIP caused one of the words to be compressed in the last title, it's supposed to be "Nightmare."

Whoever just tried my FTP, remember that I couldn't figure out how to do an anonyomous login so you need to put "fantasia" as your username.

Dear Lord no. I love Tears of Snow, but there's too many sad-ish vids already. No no. My vids for this project are:

1. Vid Title: Warriors Dance
Song: The Diva Dance.
Anime/Characters: Inu Yasha-Sango, Trigun-Vash and Rounin Kenshin-Kenshin.
Status: Just 17 seconds to fill. :)

2. Vid Title: The Silver Lining
Song: Splendor (an edited (By me) version of Hoe-down by Copland)
Anime: Various
Status: Should be starting on it before the week is out. Not sure I'll have it done by the deadline though. But it's okay since it's just my extra vid for the project.

I'm encoding the first 1:05 of Warrior's Dance right now. I'll try ta set it ta upload b4 I go to bed. :)

Songbird: Got it.

Pen-Pen: My video wasn't missing, it was just hiding in the "16:9" folder of test croppings in the "completed" section. I have noticed that I missed the anti-aliasing on one of the "painted" scenes early on, though, so I'll have to fix that for the real final version. I fixed the permissions for Songbirds (makes note to self to write script to automate this permissions thing).

Everyone: I'll have to be disconnecting for the day now, but I'll be back up this evening with all of the "inbox" videos moved to their proper homes and set to "read" so you can get to them.

Maverick: Entry by Sunday = Great.

SongBird: What I've seen so far in the preview = Great.

FTP is up for the night now. Until now my sister had homework to do (poor high school kids...).

My second video project "Around the World in 80 Minutes" has just begun, as a heads up. I don't think I'll be submitting a segment to that one, but I'm happy to administer another one for those who missed the boat on Animasia. I will be doing the transitional "journey" clips, though, so I won't be completely removed from the end product (and I'll get to play with creating some original animation using map scans and painted red lines with live footage overlays that I'll likely film myself on the rails and by the ocean - a good excuse to go boating with an old friend/ex-girlfriend).[/i]

Bakadeshi: just saw the Oratorio of Ghibli video. Wow - it's well-edited, leans toward the happy side of things (and God knows we need that), and has video as pristine as the Fruits Basket one Jasper-Isis did. I can't wait to see the rest, and think it might be the perfect video to open the "cinematic" post-intermission half of the project. I also think it might be the only segment I've seen so far with no blood in it, but that's just an idle observation.

I have something of an order selected for most of the videos at or nearing completion. I'm more sure of the 16:9 half right now, but I've a few thoughts coming together on how to lay out the 3:4 videos. I am thinking now, though, that "A Boy I Knew" would look better as a 3:4 than as a 16:9, and imagine the editor will say the same (...welcomes Mr. Nguyen's thoughts...), so that'll probably be coming out of the 16:9 lineup. I do know for sure that I want "Forbidden Memories" and "The Wasteland" to be the concluding segments of the 3:4 and 16:9 sections, respectively, and believe Bakadeshi just put up the first part of the 16:9 opener. For the 3:4 I think "Tomoe in the Moonlight" would be a good first segment.

For the intermission I think some text on illustrated panes and the Monty Python intermission theme might be cool, and another chance to lighten up the overall effect of the project.

*yay*, Ok I will finish up the ghibli one first then, since you have a spot you want to put it. especially since the deadline is fast aproaching. I will try to finish up my original one for the deadline aswell, incase you still want to add it, after I finish this one.
