Since the last element of my domain shifts every time my connection to the interenet is interrupted (i.e. someone unplugs me or my computer goes off or has to be restarted), you might have to do a little trial and error on the fourth number in the IP. As of right now, though, that fourth number is still 2 and the last link I posted is valid.
I would like to know if anyone has been able to connect, however, as I haven't seen any new files in the Inbox yet. I know I'm able to get into it from other computers in the same building, but haven't yet been able to check to see whether the firewall in the router is blocking FTP requests from outside parties. If I am having problems with the firewall I'll have to find a way to put it downstream from my machine, as it's something of a black box and therefore not terribly configurable.

Hmmm....
The IP is awfully familiar. The reason for that is, 192.168.x.x is a LOCAL IP. Meaning, that's the IP that is used over LAN networks, so it's obvious your computer will only be accessible from your LAN, whatever it is.
So check your IP settings. Noone will be able to connect to it right now, I'm pretty sure of that.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I thought it looked familiar!
Yeah, when I was setting up my router that was the IP I used to connect to it from my comp so none of us will be able to connect using that. I should of realized there was a problem when I tryed all 4 and none of them worked.
You probably already know this but it took me forever to figure out so I'm going to write it down so I don't forget. To find IP address: Network connections>right click>stadus>support tab.
Ooshna - I could connect to yours earlier but now it says it can't resolve server name or something.
I rechecked my IP and it's still 68.40.193.84. I will put up a beta there soon and fill in the completed section. I'll also download all the WIPs from Rose4Emily once hers are up. Or you can just upload stuff to mine, either way.
My video is very close to being finished and I really like how it turned out.

Yup, I figured out the IP bit last night, and found my "real" WAN IP and so forth, but have encountered a new problem:
Comcast blocks outgoing transmissions on ports 20, 21, 25, 80, and a whole lot of other, more obscure ones, meaning no standard-port FTP, SMTP, or HTTP servers.
The router blocks incoming and and outgoing data on all ports other than 21, 25, and 80. This part is reconfigurable through some sort of network interface, but I have some reading to do before I can pull that off.
I also have to find out how to make the signals coming in through the router's single WAN IP forward to my machine as opposed to any of the others connected to it.
Or perhaps just get rid of the router and have to keep taking down my server when other family members need the internet. Hopefully I don't have to resort to that.
Anyhow, that's about all I've figured out so far. I'm headed out to the car now to dig my Linux admin book out of its bin in the back of my station wagon.

Well I finally decided to render another beta even though there's still a couple of small things I want to fix, I need some input on one of them anyway.
So yeah, compressing as we speak I'll just put it in the "in progress" section of my FTP.
If anyone has any suggestions, especially about word choice/word order/placement, let me know.
Rose4Emily - if you can't get yours running you could upload the latest WIPs to my server (assuming you can connect, have you tried yet?)

FTP Tested and Working.
I took the router out of the line, and set everything on my end to a passive system that doesn't seem to be tripping the Comcast block on port 21. Then again, I didn't test my original configuration without the router, so it might be the case that Comcast isn't really blocking some of the ports that were on the list I found earlier (at least for time being).
Good news - I was able to sign into my FTP from a machine in a CS Lab 400-something miles away and navigate the directory structure of my server (SSH is a wonderful thing). This means you shouldn't have any problems getting in right now.
Bad news - I'm going to have to take my computer to work on most weekdays starting tomorrow, so the server will only be available on nights and evenings (in the general area of 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM). I might also have to take it down from time to time when other people need the internet at my house, which isn't all the time, but is frequent enough that you'll probably want to have an FTP client that can resume downloads in the event that I have to disconnect while in the middle of a transfer.
Anyhow, the first evening window is open now, and I'd be glad to get this thing rolling again. I'll be finishing my Video Editing Guide this week and moving on to making the joining sections for this first Instrumentality project after that. To do that:
I need your monologues for your video sections.
They should be fairly short (something you could read in less than a minute, 20-30 seconds would be a good average target). Once I have them I'll work them into a few words connecting each segment to the last, edit them for a consistent style, and run each back by the person who made the video before commiting anything to video. I'll also finish the cropping tests and decide on an ordering for the segments that seems to flow smoothly.

Pen-Pen: I just made a third attept to connect to your FTP (this time without the router/firewall), and was able to get in.
It seems you haven't set enter or read permissions for the folders in the WIP section. I also wonder where your own video is, I'd kinda like to see what you've done with the titles.
I'm also wondering whether you think I should upload the most recent version on each video to your server to make them accessable when mine is down, or if you'd prefer to save some disk space or fetch them from mine. I'm looking at computer parts vendors for putting together a dedicated Linux server/router, but it'll be at least three weeks before my first check comes in this summer and probably a little while after that before I have the thing up and running to provide continuous service on my end.
SongBird: Is the video you're doing for this the Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Naruto one I found in your profile? Or was it something else? Just wondering, because I'm a bit confused as to whether you were planning to put that one in.
