Far as I know you can, if you can't write over the old form your can probably upload a v2 (Version 2) of the form. Probably best to get Vlad's official word on that though.Ruadvin wrote:Hey, didn't even think of that one. Can I re-submit my entry form over the ftp thing to include a third one?
One thing though, if its at all possible i'd re encode that video, XviD 1.0.0 final is out, thats just my recomendation though. Its currently in what? DivX 5.0?
It'd be kinda nice, we can go into competition against each other for the drama/romance category. I think your vid has a good chance too....unless the judges are all 17 and never listen to any of the good oldies.

Naa.. the judges are not under 17 so no worries....Best to re-upload with a "-v2" if unsuccessful at first... Looks to be a good contest as the entires are flooding in with a one and a half weeks left till the deadlineOnyyx wrote: Far as I know you can, if you can't write over the old form your can probably upload a v2 (Version 2) of the form. Note that Vlad added the UNDER 17 part.

On a serious note though, why is the contest preferring mpeg2 over other formats?
I've never dealt with Mpeg at all so i'm pretty ignorant as to how it compares to avi which i'm used to. I don't even know what the extension is for mpeg2, although that might explain why I didn't recognize the extensions on Ruadvin's files.
As one who is planning on entering more contests some time down the road should this be something I should be checking out?
I just realized that practically every other post on this thread is mine. .:Smacks self:.

mpeg2 is the same format used for DVDs but without the scrambling. (CSS)
extension is usually .mpeg, .mpg, and i've rarely seen .mpeg2
Bst program to use is TMPGENC do a search on someplace like dvd-digest.com to get the 30 day free trial version. More on this is in the All things video and Audio in the guides section, including templates to make your encodes much easier to do without having to worry about using the right settings.

alright, going to make a version 2 of my entry form and upload my son of a preacher man as well. I did re-render it, after fixing it up a bit (thanks for the op, Onyyx
)
Also, yeah. As far as I can tell, the m2p is the extension for the mpeg 2. But there's also another of my vids for drama/romance category, but it's more along the serious lines. Having 2 vids in the same category isn't prohibited, is it? I didn't see anything saying it isn't, but I figured it's best to make sure.
Also, I'm not sure the first 2 uploaded correctly, so I'd appreciate it if you could check to make sure they're ok before the contest, if possible. If not, that's ok too.
