Ripping Dialogue only?

Post by taiki » Sun May 23, 2004 10:38 pm

I'm wondering if it's possible to rip just the dialogue of a given audio track on a DVD. I'm guessing that there's going to be no simple answer, as each audio track is encoded differently, although I do have a few general ideas.

Depending on the disc, hopefully the audio will be recorded as such that I can easily use things like RipEditBurn's Note Scrubber on it, even if it is a stereo/surround source.

Is there a better way? Or is it going to have to be done the hardway?[/b]

there is no 'dialogue' track where its only voice. Thats not how dvd's are engineered. (Tho I think theoretically it could be under DTS. . .or DVD Audio... or sacd)

But unless the DVD is 5.1 (or more) and the center channel runs audio dry, there's probably no simple way to just take dialogue.
