So I just got the red light on uploading my latest AMV to the Golden Donut. Considering I have no webspace to hold a 53.5 MB file of my own, nor do I have any connections to leech from, I'm pretty much left with stuff like P2P and so on.
However, I'm not so keen on leaving K-Lite++ on all day (or having it on at all, for that matter), and one of my friends sprung the idea of using Bit Torrent. I could use my Geocities space to upload the torrent (since those things are rarely over 20KB), and I could seed whenever my computer is on.
However, I know that many people have problems with BT that spring from the unknown darkness (READ: their own incompetence), and my computer isn't on 24/7, so I can't always be seeding.
So, is it worth the effort?
Bit Torrent for distributing AMVs: A good idea?

Actually a lot of subbing groups include an AMV or two prepackaged with a torrent...usually the ones where it's an entire series or season packaged into one torrent. Although the ones I've seen haven't exactly been really incredible. People occasionally post AMVs to Usenet groups as well. In fact the regs of alt.2600 and alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk got an exclusive look at the first minute of footage of my latest video (which will be finished by this Friday, and available only through my website).
