was disappointed to see nothing come of it. I was expecting to start writing tech articles once I got into the opperational Air Force. However I didn't hear or see anything about it once I finally got internet access again. : /TobinHood wrote:It's been attempted, it's not gonna happen... ever. I think that if some people got together and did just one good issue it would gather enough attention to secure it's future. There are a lot of creators so it wouldn't have to be a Herculean effort by a few people. There are also a lot of people who want to make a name for themselves who might volunteer for the more tedious aspects. And there are precedents for people doing a lot of work for the benefit of the community (the Distro and this site to name a few.) Start it and they will come….TobinHood wrote:It's been attempted, it's not gonna happen... ever. Everyone says they'd work on it, no one ever does, myself included. Of course I am a registered hopeless dreamer, so all the jaded old-timers can feel free to disregard me.

And once they make a name for themselves they'll be sure to take off. I'll repeat once again, the real thing is never going to happen. We had a mailing list of people back in 2002 filled to the brim with people who said they'd work on it and by the end of the next month about 3 people were responding to emails. People always have enough attention within the first mention of something but no one ever sticks with it (again myself included). I even allowed another person to borrow the name and give it a try in 2003, same results happened.pen-pen2002 wrote: I think that if some people got together and did just one good issue it would gather enough attention to secure it's future. I would actually like to do somehting like this. Except i have the same problem alot of people who would like to do somehting like this have. Time. Or more specifically, lack there of.
It would be a welcome thing though. I would signup for it if someone did it. Maybe even volunteer to do reviews of some AMVs for it. Actually, I think if we did like Pen-Pen says, and asign a small section of it to each person, and only bring out an issue a month, it could be done, even with everyone not having abundance of time to work on it. Since it is only once a month. weekly might be pushing it, unless enough of us don't have a life ;p
