Has anyone seen this series yet? I heard that this is sort of like a Power Rangers spoof, and I also heard the dub SURPASSES the sub a lot.

I have; it was one of the first DVDs I bought. And yes, the dub is far funnier than the sub, mainly because the Japanese voice actors actually take their roles seriously, while the English ones are obviously having fun with them.

It's only two OVAs. I wish they had made more, but then it might have turned into what they were spoofing (the way Project A-Ko did in the later movies). I wonder if any company will pick up the rights to the manga it was based on.

Yep, saw it some years back... its a pretty good ova, nothing spectacular, but for a one shot deal you really have nothing to lose. The dub is damn funny. It doesnt try to be an accurate dub. It tried to be a funny dub. Whilst I would normally cry herecy, I think it just *works*. And hey, theres always the subbed version. The deal with the subbed version, is its supposed to be funny because you've got these well known voice actors that are capable of amazing work, playing the roles of these no-name characters in a no-name parody anime. A least I think thats why it's supposed to be funny. The dub is far funnier though.

One other interesting tidbit is that every character shares their family name with the seiyuu that provided their voice.

The story is forgettable, but it's loaded with one-liners:

"I am NOT a BIMBO! ' - the bimbo
"I can't lose to her. She's got bad hair!" - scary office lady
"I'm gonna die in a Godzilla suit! - Sheena
"You love me. You just don't know it yet." - Sheena the bimbo

The same crew that did the Shinesman dub also did Elf Princess Rane - which is even funnier, IMO. (Rane is more for 16-and-up due to language and one-finger salutes.) The rap-dance in the roses scene is priceless.
