Drowning

Hey, I'm looking for an anime that has a really elaborate drowning, or underwater unconscious scene, preferably involving a female who survives and even more preferable if it shows her swim towards the surface of the water. Any ideas anyone? Help is utmost appreciated. Thanks.

Cardcaptor Sakura the Movie has a few scenes of Sakura drowning. I guess we could count the Escaflowne the Movie where Hitomi is drowning before being transported to Gaia.

Episode... 4, IIRC, of Azumanga Diaoh. Chiyo-chan, and Osaka both have trouble staying afloat. Might be too lighthearted for your purpose, though.

Fushigi Yuugi has a scene where Miaka attempts to drown herself.

I don't think its drowning, but there is that one scene in the first Ghost in the Shell movie.

Funny side note: at first, I thought this was going to be about the song "Drowning" by Crazy Town.

If I recall correctly, there's a scene pretty similar to that in Tenshi Ni Narumon (I'm Gonna Be An Angel). Also, there's a drowning scene in Adolescence of Utena.

In Chobits, there's a scene where Chii falls into the ocean, and Hideki has to jump in and rescue her (of course she ends up rescuing him instead).

Similar thing happens in the Ah! My Goddess OAV. Keichii falls overboard, and Belldandy has to rescue him.

In Princess Mononoke, after Ashitaka wrestles San from the wormy things on the boar, they fall into the lake. IIRC Ashitaka has to stuggle to get them back up again.

Thanks for the help guys, still haven't found anything I can sue yet though. Maybe I can narrow this down, it will probably have to be from a series that's not light-hearted and bubbly... bubbley... how do you spell that?!

Yeah, but it's all "shot" from the shore (and in sepia-flashback tones at that); they don't show anything from the POV of the drowning girl, IIRC. :/

(Just wanted to mention that so somebody doesn't buy the movie for that and get disappointed.)
