Is it possible to get AMV Fried (not block)?

Post by genestarwind21122 » Fri Apr 23, 2004 11:27 pm

My next question to you org members is. Is it possible to get AMV fried? Meaning you have ton of great ideas but then you go to work on the video and you feel blah. (or like crap). Are times when your like I just made an amv and eventhough I have this great idea I need to take a break. Has this ever happend to you? Feel free to share your experience if you have.

Yes, you can get your AMVs fried. Or baked, or grilled, or sautéed, if you prefer a lighter alternative.

Oh, wait, that's not what you meant. Is it?

Just happened to me this morning.

I have no doubt the final product will kick ungodly amounts of ass (well, relative to my past creations), but sometimes you have to let things simmer.

It happens to me in between AMV's. Often it lasts for a couple of months, but I'm getting the upper hand now :)
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Yes. Take a break, I guess. Why not? If you're not under any deadlines and it's not your job, you can take as much time off as you want to recharge.

Of all things, I had a problem with AMV-Equipment Fried.
Ran out of disc space twice and had to offload files via Disc.
Crashed AE countless times.
And apparently 192MB RAM wasn't enough to compile the AMV.

When AE crashes, I just restart teh box and walk off. How AMVs *don't* get done, unfortunately.

Won't be happening anymore, though. Some creative messing around at the library (involved digging through old memos and a few computer files) net me the password to their Fortres programme. Needless to say, I added Premiere to the approved apps list.

If you view peoples journals and read them and eventually follow them then you can see that this happens all the time. People will say "I'm starting my vid and it will come out soon" then they lose thier motivation. It happens but i think for the most part people get through it fine and after the first few successful vids its not a big issue.
