Yeah, that's too damn true. That problem applies to just about all thrash/grindcore though; it'd be damn hard to make a really outstanding thrash/grindcore video that's longer than a minute or so.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Fortunately, this exceeds the length of the average grindcore song by a factor of about seven. :D

I haven't seen much of it, and the existence of an uncut DVD release at all is somewhat in doubt, but Violence Jack hasn't been mentioned yet. More post-apocalyptic stuff, with Go Nagai's usual violence level, and scenes of rape and cannibalism that allegedly had to be cut for its original US release. It's three OVAs for a total of like 150 minutes or something, I forget.

The 'technological' bit, and the import filter, is what's really holding these ideas back. There is a lot of extreme gory stuff out there, but nobody wants to import it or even fansub it. And most of it is occult-oriented rather than sci-fi brutality; a guy may get beaten around with his own severed arm in Maryuu Senki (which I've only seen unsubbed-tape-copy-from-LD), but he's getting pasted by a demon-dragon dude, not a robot.

Bakuretzu Hunters had this cool-looking mech that eats a crow.

I hope the rest of the series has mechs like that. Then we would be set.
... and that's the story of how you were born
