In one of the episodes of Boogiepop Phantom there's a girl who plays the piano. And she ends comitting suicide and dies on the keys. Very dark.

Aw man, I can't believe I forgot that. I'm pretty sure it's the first part of episode 9 that deals with her. If you want "dark", that would be perfect.

i think theres a scene with in Memories with the paino. its kinda dark but too dark. but theres not really any one playing it the keyboards are moving by them selves i think.

Big O... Dark-ish (technically, mecha) anime with plenty of piano... Though, I think it's more "jazz-like" than "dark"...

a statement of the obvious:

there's an anime called "Piano" with several scenes where a piano is being played. the girl on the keys almost always has a sort of sad look when she's at the piano - so, although the anime itself isn't "darK", the piano scenes could work quite well in a dark amv.

i used a few clips from piano in two of my own amvs, so if you want a sampler of what piano looks like, you can check my "changes" or "no way to slow down" videos.

The one that came immediately to mind was "Big O" - one of the main characters, Dorothy, is often looking somber and playing the piano. It's one of her only hobbies.

i agree with big o here, esp. episode like 12 or 13 in that area, its a whole episode based on the android playing piano.
