Guide Translators?

Post by dokool » Sun Mar 21, 2004 10:19 pm

It should surprise no one that yes, there are people from foreign countries on the 'Org who don't speak English. And when they post for help, it usually falls on one of the European creators (like JCD or Willow) to assist.

So, to make things easier for everyone, why not work on translating the guides? I suppose AD/ErMaC's guide is the most important, and you could have a more simplified version done in French and/or German, since those seem to be the most prevalent foreign visitors...

Hey,

Thank you for volunteering to translate some of the site guides! You're right, many members will greatly appreciate your effort. Keep me posted on your progress and I'll post them once you're done.

Thanks again and good luck!!

Black pawn! Racism!

In all seriousness, though, this would be a good project for someone (whose first language isn't English) to take up. Phade, I fail to see why you're dripping sarcasm onto the floor, as I just made a suggestion without implying that *you* should do it, only suggesting that it might be a good idea to do...

A french translation of the guide is being worked on presently.

As for other languages, we'll need volunteers for that.

Hey,

dokool: Whups. I thought you were ACTUALLY volunteering to translate guides. I was really tired when I read your post. Sorry...
