I imagine Dan will be posting the official results before too long, but it should be noted that link is incorrect for mine- that goes to last year's entry, The Powerpuff Girls Reloaded. I'm playing by the rules this year and will not be making an entry in the DB for The Powerpuff Revolutions, as Phade made it clear with the whole VCA DQ thing that he really didn't want any music videos that were purely 'non-anime' in the DB. I'll be putting up a page on it with the writeup and DL links when I get home and posting about it in announcements.

Going purely by memory, though (and I can't recall a few categories), the ones I remember were

Best Trailer- Tom The Fish's PeeWee Akira beat me out for this category

Best Action & Best Editing (IIRC) went to a video that travelled a ways to get to the convention (from South Africa, I believe I heard)- Mystery Conundrum

Best Drama went to a She the Ultimate Weapon video I believe- I can't find which one it was because I don't have my program here.

Best Romance went to Machine's Drunk with Love (by a very thin margin, from what I heard)

Best Comedy/Parody & Most Original Concept were already mentioned.

Best in Show- Brad DeMoss's Goodbye Blue Sky

And there was an honorable mention for 'The Malfeasent Senator" (probably butchered that spelling, but as I said- from memory)

Was that this video?

I just checked the dbase and found no saikano video with the same title. Though my song title was "I believe" by blessed union of souls. My video title was Uber Depressing Video though.....hmmmm. Can you take a look to see if I was hijacked. I don't remember sending this in as it had won something before and i tend not to send a video if beforehand i knew it won something somewhere else. Espeically it being more than a year old. You remember if "Cry Little Idol" was shown at all at the contest?

*chuckle*

No, I didn't mean it used 'I Believe'... I meant "I believe it was a Saikano video".

Cry Little Idol was shown; it got my vote for drama.

Did it seem odd that ballots weren't available until Sunday? Although the con staff was really overworked... (very, very nice though)

I have to admit, I learned quite a bit from my first contest:

A) D*ck jokes are always funny. (That is, duck, if profanity isn't allowed.)

B) Blood IS genre-appropriate for a comedy video.

C) Know your audience.

D) If your references are obscure, be emotionally prepared to hear the crickets!

Much was learned, much to be learned.
