When I first started watching AMV's I downloaded bunches of videos that my computer wouldn't play. Now I have so many codecs that I havn't not been able to play a video in years.

With the incresing age of this site, file formats are becoming almost a non-issue in terms of compatibility. That being said I'd still stay away from .rm, personally I use Xvid.

like many her, i usually avoid .rm because:
1. i hate realplayer
2. the ones i've downloaded look really pathetic

i also avoid local downloads of .wmv because i usually have problems downloading them locally... it IS possible to make .wmvs look good, though

I preffer the newest codecs with the best compression, but I'll settle for anything. :P

Yup Xvid works on my mac. I havent had much trouble with codecs in a while. But Movs just look better on Macs and some divx files seem to look better on pcs, just my observations tho. (just sometimes I get a real grainy pic on the mac and divx, dunno what from)
