Although they seem to enjoy the ban first ask questions later routine.

It's not hard, and it's not a "hack". (from a code standpoint) phpBB has functionality built in for word censoring. Instead of censoring damn to ****, censor ooooooo (or whatever) to o.
www.something-awful.com
Altering the link doesn't prevent people doing a girl with pretty eyes or goatsex, or making a TinyURL™ to something-awful. >_>
The point isn't to prevent people from linking to Something Awful (the site), but to prevent direct-linking their pictures, to avoid getting the nasty image they put in place to prevent people from doing that.

Maybe you don't understand, seijin_dinger is the king of knowing what a flame is.

DokiDoki>> I know there are filtering options in phpBB. I wasn't aware of any sort of logic/scripting allowed to that filtering. I'll look into it.

s0methingawful, tubgurl, goats3 are not filtered on a domain level, but @ a word level. String replace "something-awful.com" with something like pleasedonotlinktothissite.com or maybe a little URL linking people to the TOS of this website. Both seem more reasonable than just changing it w/o making an announcement about it.

Gabe, how could you forget this? It was implemented when I replied to Jeremy's "I'm leaving tell me you love me" post and stretched the page to absurd widths.

That would be nice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't it also work with '?gun', where the '?' is a single character? I know that's a common selection tool.

Meh... brain doesn't feel like working on it >_>

It's also 9 o's, 10 o's 11 o's 12 o's 13 o's 14 o's 15 o's .... etc..

There would have to be something telling it "eight O's or more = 'o'". Wildcards don't seem to fit the bill >_> <_<.
