It's like watching a nature documentary.
"Caught by suprise and unaware, the elitist metal-heads curiously ponder the newcomers to their den. Not liking what they see, they move on to newer pastures, preferring to stay among their own kind."
Of course, I'd be doing the same thing if it was Velvet Acid Christ becoming popular, so I feel your pain.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?ithaqua wrote:It's like watching a nature documentary.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I think that means we're elitist metalheads. I've heard it enough to take it as a compliment.flint_the_dwarf wrote:What the hell is that supposed to mean?ithaqua wrote:It's like watching a nature documentary.

Well I got that much.
Is he trying to say that a good metal band gone bad and us not liking it makes us elitist?
Or is he just finding some clever way of pointing out the obvious: well they didn't like this album, so they're going to look somewhere more familiar.

Yeah, Anders' vocals do sound a little Kornish at times.
Ofcourse, this could be because he sucks (see The Tokyo Showdown for more graphic evidence) and not due to any flaw in the band's musical direction.
Of course, it's also that understandable that In Flames have become rapidly more commercial in recent years; they're crossing over, Dark Tranquillity blows them out of the water musically, and The Haunted and the rest of the New Swedish Wave of Thrash Metal absolutely wreck everything they've done since Lunar Strain in terms of aggro.
This being said Soundtrack to Your Escape (crappy title -- *this* area definitely has been going straight downhill since 1997) does not sound like it will be as bad as Reroute.... Most of the people I've heard from who got actual promo discs are fairly positive on it. I'm not sure, but I'm probably going to buy it anyway. It'll hopefully be at least consistent. If the last one had leaned either to its heavier or more electro side instead of wobbling in the middle, it would have been a decent and listenable record.
Well, if they left off the pointless whiny country song in any case. Javla country!

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.
