okay, about half of them are ok. I tend to hate one line summations of things. I can't really see the decision to purchase a couple hundred dollar peice of software, or even a realistic evaluation based on most of them. You'd think that reviewing AMV's people would get better at listing good and bad points.Zarxrax wrote:What's not objective about them? They cover all the bad points
or (my favorite)Bad Almost nothing just that you need to have a good system
andBad nuthin but i dunno how to use
Nothing wrong with these I suppose, but these guys also gave the programs 8's 9's and 10's across the board.Bad Video quality output leaves something to be desired (aka, its crap).
It's a cool program, with some nifty...... hmm, you know, I should just shut up and write my own definitive review.
Damn, gotta reinstall.

I did try the program, I even rated it earlier in the post. I was just complaining that the reviews in the review forum don't really give anyone much of an idea of what's in the program. If you're gonna pimp it, you might want to dress it up a bit.
"it's real easy to use" tells us nothing, other than that user finds it easy to use.
Instead try mentioning how the media bin mimics the windows explorer, and how different modes are right there in easily understandable window tabs. I mentioned the .vob compatibility, and pointed out how you could do away with avisynth, virtualdub, dvd2avi, and tmpgenc. Real time previews let you see your effects NOW instead of previewing all the time. virtually every video mode is available for input, editing and output, including hi-def. Nice, easy to use surround sound functionality and so on and so on.
Basically if you are going to compare this to premiere, and it's almost a foregone conclusion that this is the case, then you need to make a case on HOW it is better. How do the most commonly used functions differ from the program you're trying to seduce people away from?
Personally I don't really see it as all that much of a jump from premiere, but them again, I don't see macs and windows as all that different either. Just different ways to do the same thing.

It sucks. It's interface is crap, there's no effects, and I can't get the MPEG-1/MPEG-2 import plugin to work since I cracked the demo and the damn serial I got for it from a keygen don't work (hey, I wanted to try it for a few days, alright?)
Needless to say, I promptly dumped the piece of trash and stuck with my trusty Premiere.

anyway, on a non-flaming note, i dont get why alot of people say vegas4 is slow and that you need a powerful system to handle it. i used to have it run on a 1ghz athlon with 512sdr133ram and it was just fine eccept for when previewing with transitions. other than that it was all smooth sailing, and it still is, as it allways will be.
