This suggestion has probably allready been made.
I believe a better votingsystem than merely picking the best video in a category would be if voters could pick a 1st, 2nd, 3rd... place; with most points going to the 1st place, less to the 2nd and so on. That way a video could win even if it was not placed 1st most often, but when it can unite more points on itself than the other videos.

What are you talking about, contests in general or something specific?

IIRC, there are several cons that use that sort of voting system...

Probably the VCAs, considering the context of them being current and whatnot, although it's certainly hard to be sure :wink:
