TAKE ONE DRINK EACH TIME...
-You see Reika in the yellow dress
-Music is discussed
-A female character appears in a swimsuit for the first time
-You see blue blood
-They use the same exact shot of RahXephon launching (regardless of color balance)
-You see Ayato's sketch of Reika (or similar)
-Blatant fanservice
-There's a distinct reference to something from Evangelion (Elvy's cross pendant, some of the battles, etc
-Quon says "ra-ra"
-You see an empty Ramune bottle


TAKE TWO DRINKS EACH TIME...
-You see Ayato's painting of Reika

Hence the music symbolism. RahXephon uses music as a parallel or analog to discuss issues in the anime (The Big Message) and to get to the objective (The *cough* Hidden Meaning *cough*).

Well, duh. They're using CG now (yuck, CG!), which places them at about the same level as coders and engineers - taking shortcuts.
Have you ever copied over some routines from your old work just to speed through the preproduction phase? You're GUILTY AS CHARGED!

You really haven't seen Japan yet. They have Ramune vending machines with motion sensors, too, remember?

It's probably not some metaphor, but it's a character development device.

-Somebody is seen listening to headphones (SIC)
I don't think so. I don't think it's the headphones I'm listening to,it's the music. Hence the disgust when the audio signal fails.

I nearly threw my soda at the screen when I saw a couple of the fights. I was willing to accept the Eva references on the virtue of RahXephon being such a kickass show, but some of the stuff was just painfully obvious...

how about compairing a pic of Rei and Kisaragi-mama from Happy Lesson...not the manga though but both from the series, they look EXACTLY the same and actually have the EXACT same personality, cept in the manga

I nearly threw my soda at the screen when I saw a couple of the fights. I was willing to accept the Eva references on the virtue of RahXephon being such a kickass show, but some of the stuff was just painfully obvious...

Like the fight with the dual, two-sided...red and blue...thing. A long lost cousin of the angel that split in two in Eva? Also, if you notice, when those things are flying by, the camera angle switches to inside of one of the abandoned buildings and you see the thing go by the windows. Any relation to how the angel Shinji first fought was shown (camera angle) as it swam through the water of Tokyo-1? And what about the one that 'warps' Ayato to that freaky alternate city thing (where that girl makes him PUT HIS HAND ON HER BOOB...SEEM FAMILIAR?!)? Any relation to the zebra-angel in Eva?

Once again, I could go on and on and on...but I won't unless anyone wants me to point out more.
