im guessin here but isnt fansubs like a store or something? coz if it is .... it been different for me coz im in the UK and ur in the US?

Fansubs isn't a store, they're fanmade subtitle episodes commonly distributed over the internet. I'm sure someone would gladly give you a link to a site where you could find one, but Phade doesn't like people talking about such things on the site.

it is up to episode 10. if you want it, i can give a link to where you can download it. you'd need bittorrent though.

Wow, are you serious? Weird!!! ::thinks of huge crowded shelf of fansubs at store:: I honestly didn't know that...maybe they buy them used or something. Are there licensed fansubs? No, wait, that didn't make any sense...oh, nvm. I'll look carefully next time I go, which might be this weekend.

Torrent sucks

and yeah fansubs are illegal to sell/rent/lease/purchase/jerkofftoo/mexico but if you get them for FREE and ONLY before the show is licensed, then its legal...but who cares about legality, i d/led all of Chobits about 2 months ago and its been licensed and sold for a long while now

Haven't you ever read any of those things most fansubbers put up during the eye-catch? They usually say "Not for sale or rent." or something along those lines. Consider yourself screwed if you ever bought any.
Your store doesn't buy them either. All they need to do is download some episodes from a Usenet group and transfer them onto VHS or DVD and they make a massive illegal profit. If they do buy these fansubs, they're as stupid as those that buy them.
You may have confused imported stuff with fansubbed. Sometimes the Japanese DVD releases contain English subs. That is, assuming you're talking about DVDs and not VHS.
Perhaps I could interest you in the latest movies to hit the theaters? There's a Chinese guy selling them down on the corner.

AH!!! CHINESE MAFIA!!!

If I go to the anime store this weekend I will take a closer look at those vids. I could've sworn they were fansubs but I could be wrong.
