I was wondering if it was worth watching?

It really depends on what your tastes are, to me this is what Berserk has:

1. Great Story
2. Awesome fight sequences
3. Good character development
4. If you watch the official DVDs (which I hope you do) then the outtakes on it are some of the best I have ever seen.

Berserk is by far one of my favorite series, though I prefer the manga over the tv series. Not only does it go further but it goes more in depth with the characters.

YES it's worth it!

If you're someone who preffers reading manga to watching anime, get the manga, but I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with the anime, it's an incredible experience. I'd suggest get the "Box of War" (boxset) and watch the series in blocks of episodes, it's an extremely good series. It's a fantasy with mainly a war setting, and there are a lot of great characters with very good development, plus it's gets you thinking about life, or atleast it did with me.

The problem with the manga is that it is only now coming out in English version.

With a release scheduled for fall 2003, Dark Horse and Digital Manga will present Berserk as three volumes in a non-westernized format. Each volume will read from right to left and original Japanese sound effects will remain intact.

Dark Horse comics will be releasing volume one of Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga on October 15th. The title will retail for $13.95.

So they are going to print three volumes and see if it is worth doing more. The only other way to read the manga is to find fan translationed page scans.

Yes, it is worth watching.

Great series/manga, do NOT watch the dub though, its pretty freakin lame.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
