2003 was not a year of rock.
It just seemed to usher in a whole lot of suck.

I love Marquee Moon, and hold it in the highest regard, but i just can't stand Adventure. I almost hate it. I have no idea why. Perhaps I unfairly compare it to MM. Maybe I'm just dumb. Man, to have been born 10 years earlier and seen them live. I caught the 90s reunion, but meh...

Hmm, only 2003 releases I've got (and they might even be late 2002...been a while since I've gone on a music buying binge)

System of a Down - Steal This Album!
They Might Be Giants - Dial-a-Song
Life's short.

A few of my friends hate adventure as well. I did for a long time too, but my Dad actually convinced me to give it another try. It's better than I remembered, but yeah, not even remotely as good as Marquee Moon.

I wish I got a chance to see them live too. Being born in 82 though, made that kinda rough heh.
Are you down with the sound of the Devil's town?

Here's all the 2003 cds I have/had and have listened to, ranked. Not a huge list.

1. The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
2. Stew - Something Deeper Than These Changes
3. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak
4. Cursive - The Ugly Organ
5. Lake Trout - Another One Lost
6. Muse - Absolution
7. A People's History Of The Dismemberment Plan
53. Finger Eleven - Finger Eleven
54. Evanescence - Fallen
55. Hoobastank - The Reason

Then throw Hail To The Thief in there, somewhere between 7 and 53. Never did purchase it, but I listened to it several times in mp3 form...which probably lowers the credibility of my opinion a bit.
