Well, you're very welcome. And I did think about Omni for this, but...I can remember when you, Sporkmaster and I spent months ghosting the AMV Announcement board grabbing as many new vids as we could and giving instant constructive feedback, not to mention free reviews to help the new editors. I know none of us has been that active lately, but when it was at the peak, I'd say each of you helped just as much as anyone answering questions in the 'Sortware Help' sections.Braveliver wrote:Ari, I don't know what to say. For you to nominate me for helping hands is humbling especially coming from you, who along with Omni have been one of the strongest members I have seen since I first joined in June this year. Thank you very much. I feel bad that I haven't been able to be around very much since September, but I intend to be more active again since I am not teaching as many classes this semester. Thank you again for this honor.
Ah, but think about it - that's a lot of vids to go through to get better. For Best New Creator I can't compete with those who were excellent to begin with, or who became excellent after only a few vids. I think half the fun of being here is that I got to greet Paulo and LCX and all sorts of new editors who have improved so much in just a few months. I watch their first vids, then their latest ones and the difference is amazing.Your prodigious output, coupled with the ever-improving quality of your videos, as well as all the help you have been within the ORG this past year, puts you light years beyond me.
Thank you very much. ^_^ You make me wish I were a better editor and had more free time. I miss those old days hanging out in the AMV Announcement forum...and with AAM gone, it's the only way to greet the new editors.Please take a bow Arigatomina, you deserve it whether anyone else agrees with me or not. You get both my votes for Best New Creator, as well as Most Helping Hands.
Ah! Thanks for the recs, and reminder. ^_^;; For some reason when I tried to think of something for instrumental I had a complete brainfreeze. With my memory I tend to remember lyrics, so this category has left me with a big blank. I'll check those out (and definitely rewatch yours...pretty bad that I forgot it was an instrumental )PS. Ari. Don't forget that my <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 1">Requiem for a Vampire</a> is an instramental piece, as is Itsev's <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 8491">Band of Brothers</a> which was very good, as well as his <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 3">Forever Together... </a> which has my vote as one of the best instramentals I have seen so far, but I still need to see the rest of the nominees for this year.
You made me giddy. ^.~ But it's true, you and Sporkmaster - I got to watch you help nearly every new editor that came through, and I know you helped me as well.Once again, Thank you Ari for your kind consideration of me. I am still blushing

Thanks for reminding me of those days. I will be going back to those days soon I hope. My class load is not nearly as heavy as it was last semester, and with only 20 or so students instead of the 75 I had last semester, I am sure I will have much more time to help out again. (I give each and every one of them the same amount of attention as I do in my reviews, so you can just imagine how busy I was last semester.) I am considering reviving the Emotional Vid string again, but we will see if I can.
as for what you said:
Heh. Rambling again. Tend to do that from time to time. I thank you again for your praise, though I don’t know if I deserve it. You have been just as much of a help to the org as I have.
as for what you said:
Don't worry, I am used to people forgetting about my vids. I am not the flashy type of creator, and my vids are not the type that stirs up excitement in the mainstream crowd, but I'm used to it. I just enjoy making my type of videos, which are often the most non-mainstream type of videos I can think of. I am always surprized when people say they like the ones like <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 75">Bright Eyes</a>, which features an obscure, but good Anime movie rarely seen, and features a slow depressing song about death. I love it when someone comments that it really touched them. That is worth more than all the popularity on the org I can get. So what if my videos aren't in the top 10, many of my favorites aren't there either. I just love sharing my visions with others, and having a peek at theirs too, and I love helping newer people help explore their own visions, and help them express themselves even better. I love their enthusiasm, and it rejuvenates my own. I love to be enthusiastic about AMV's, almost as much as I love teaching.Ah! You guys are great motivation. ^_^ But we should stick to recs before someone flames me for being a suck-up. ^_^;;
I'm still looking for a Romantic video.
Something soft, but not too angsty or flashy. I've watched a *lot* of them, but none that I'd say I 'loved' - because I'm picky as heck when it comes to romance. So any suggestions are welcome. [Yes, I've looked at the other recs for this category, but most of the vids I've already seen...]

I would suggest <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... erences</a> or <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 1373">Love Song for a Vampire</a>, or even <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 30">Better be Home Soon</a>, but that would be really REALLY shameless . So, some of my favorite Romantic vids are:
1. <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ">Together - Soothing Symphonic</a> by Omnistrata
2. <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 1">Missing you . . . . .</a> by Paulo (Though I don't know if it will qualify since it is pure game footage, but it was good anyway)
I will get back to you on more videos. Going through my library. I don't have as many "Great" romantic videos as you would think.

I named the other one mostly for the combination of footage and the story line - stands as one of the odder vids I've seen (hence artistic). ^"^
