One thing I've been curious about, is the way schools in Japan would appoint school work.
Would it be something like the majority of public schools in America, with teacher appointed homework and then tests. Or maybe something more like the PACEs done by several private schools here, where you begin at one that is at your current academic level (so two studends in teh same grade could be several PACE's apart) with work done out of booklets and daily work goals set by students, with tests taken at the end of each packet.

I knew there were major tests, and that schools were ranked such, but are the tests the only things that matter, do they never receive projects or homework that counts for grades?

Although, I *am* guessing, their dorms will be American made, so they won't get tatami matting, or for that matter...DJ_Izumi wrote:Yes, both American and Japanese foods are served, and they readily accomdate the needs of the American Students.
Besides, it's Japan, you can't get to far without finding a McDonnalds.
Have you ever been to Japan, went to your hotel room to discover that none of the lights worked? You stick the smartcard room key into a little slot to get them to work!

I know Japanese students are forced to learn english, but do they have to take any other language classes, like French or Russian, in addition to get into college?

What does a normal campus like? In an industrial high-rise building? Or what?

The Dormatories are fairly 'Ikea' by design. The brunt of the furnature is laminated partical board. Beds have build in headboard shelfing, under matress shelves, extera. They are also designed to be modular and expandable. In 15 mins a 2D dorm room could be expanded from two beds to a pair of bunk beds and be recatagorized as a 4D.danielwang wrote:Although, I *am* guessing, their dorms will be American made, so they won't get tatami matting, or for that matter...
Technicly the school can increase it's sleeping capacity by 35% in a matter of hours.
It also has a sub level bomb shelters to hold up to 2000 people in the defunct lower levels.
