30 min vid lasts 50 seconds

Post by bum » Sat Dec 27, 2003 1:16 pm

ok i have a kinda wierd problem with video's that i sometimes download (ok porn and hentai i admit it, sue me). they say they go for 50 seconds, but i know that they go longer. but the timeline streches for 50 seconds and stops when its doen. but if i start it again and click on a different part in the timeline, it skips to a different part of the video (past the 50 seconds) and it skips to different parts when i click at different parts of the timeline, sometimes skiping forward more than other places. but no mater what, it still sticks with the 50 second timeline. and to be honest, it realy sux, esspecialy seeing how long it takes to dl at 56k. anyone got anyway at all that can fix this ? (note i tried opening it in premier, wmm and vegas, and it still acted up in the same wau)

Are they MPEGs? Kazaa royally fucks up video for some reason. I think their multisourcing system sucks or people just release faulty video files. But the MPEG1 files on kazaa really are messed up.

Try grabbing the latest version of Vdub and importing the video into there. Then save it as another codec, like huffYUV/uncompressed...

I had an issue with downloaded Mpeg 1's of ANY sort. It had NO explination what so ever... All mpeg-1 files would be 30 seconds long, dispite being longer. Downloaded trailers, game clips, ANYTHING. Now, I could generate Mpeg1s on my own from other formats and they'd be just fine. But downloaded materials were strange... Use an Mpeg Splitter and Merger, it'd take two clips and make only the first 30 seconds of each section playable... Yet I could move the time curser threw the clip and it'd play for another 30 seconds.

Then one day, I reinstalled windows and the problem went away. :)

I think we have the same problem there Izumi, usually I notice this on pron from kazaa, so yeah.. But :p Umm... MPEG1 files from people here on the ORG usually play fine. When I import a mpeg that has problems playing in media player I take it to vdub and it usually gives me errors about indexing. So I just attribute it to poor file making/ corrupt files...

So did I, untill I reinstalled windows, and all the same video files played back correctly.

I'm not sure WHAT the problem is, however it does seem to be related to the playback of the file, and not the file itself.

hmm, thier may be a way to fix this, mabey, but il have to wait till my perants leave so i can put the porn on. ah stuff it il just say it. open the file in vegas (not sure this'l work with other software), hilight the whole thing from the begining then just copy it into another video track. then do the saem again, but this time skip to the scene that cuntinues on another scene and just hilight and copy. im not sure this will work as you probaly woent be ablt to acces most of the scenes for stupid reasons anyway

I've had this problem too, I've found that if you export to a series of images (using premiere or avisynth), and then import these into vdub, you get a correct timeline. Just recoding into huffy didn't do the trick as I recall.

Your computer has been loaded with a copy of MahorOS 3.7. Ecchi thoughts are inappropriate. Unfortunately, this is permanent - there's no way to downgrade to a version without the content restriction module.
