Astro Boy on Kids WB

I read in the Anime News Network that the new Astro Boy is going to be premiered in this January. I believe the original Astro Boy was the very first anime series to be broadcast on TV, right? I'm just pretty skeptical of how KidsWB is going to handle this remake. Any thoughts or concerns about this?

I assume this was already talked about so sorry if this is just repeating old news. This forum just needs some informative thread, right?

Kids WB is releasing it

??? That'd be so strange, first off. I mean if it's the original the whole concept seems off quilter to their pop culture type attitude of broadcasting.

Hmmm...I am intrigued by this, I'll have to check it out should it prove true.

From what I have heard, the new Astro Boy is going to be a very good series, but I doubt you'll see very good on the KidsWB... I'll be buying the uncut version when it comes to DVD.

I've seen the first episode (shown in Japan in English) and it was pretty good. The animation was incredibly detailed, yet remained faithful in spirit to the original feel of the series. Looking forward to seeing what Kids WB does with it, as well as the uncut DVDs (most likely released by Sony/Columbia) coming next year.

astro boy is realy old. thats anime that my mom used to watch when she was young. The series looks pretty good. I think im gonna give it a try.
