AMV Ideas. Need input

Post by AikenAnimeMaster » Sun Nov 30, 2003 5:57 pm

Here's a couple of things Im gonna be working on soon. If anyone has any suggestions for fx or editing styles please let me know.

Ninja Scroll - Escaflowne Movie "First Vision"
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust - Three Kings OST "The Gold"
Trigun - Limp Bizkits "Behind Blue Eyes"
Hellsing - Coal Chambers "Fiend"
Berserk - "Not sure of a song yet...."

And right now I'm working on Final Fantasy Spirits Within - A Perfect Circles "Weak and Powerless"

I've got a neato concept for it, so hopefully it'll turn out ok. I'll post it hopefully by the end of next week.

Take your VHD:B, Trigun, and FF DVDs.

Put them away.

Do the Ninja Scroll, Hellsing, and Berserk AMVs.

Then go back to those DVDs you put away. Show love to the anime that hasn't been done 5 billion times already.

Awww....but I allready had the FF movie ripped, primed and ready to rock!

mmk. I'll do the Ninja Scroll AMV next after the FF Movie one. I havent seen one FF Spirits Within AMV yet...which is why I decided to do that one first.

hehe. Glad you like the ideas though.

Oh, and a group of guys I play LAN games with are interested in doing a "Iron Chef" style AMV editing competition, ala AWA. And when thats done Im gonna put together a DVD to show off at Cons and whatnot. Let you all know how that goes.

Anyone on the Forum around the Aiken/Augusta/North Augusta area in South Carolina or Georgia? I'm Looking to maybe form an AMV club or something of that nature. Just a regular anime club isnt enough for some people around here to keep em interested.

What character are you going to use for this one? I've thought about doing an AMV with the song too, and it really seems suited to a villain, but I assume you'd do Vash, which I guess could work but he lacks the angst to give it some bite.

I was gonna use Vash and Knives. Kinda play off there being 2 people singing the song instead of one.

One part by Vash, the other by Knives. And for Vashs "angst" I was gonna use alot of the shots where he gets super pissy and his eyes are glowing. Of course they are kinda green I think when they glow, so I may need to do some color tweaking.

Who were you base yours on?

Well that's why I havent done one, I cant really think of anyone suitable, but I probably havent given it enough thought. I wouldnt suggest using two characters, because its really meant to be about a single person, and the fact that its that single person against the world. But stranger things have worked before. When I think of that song, I tend to relate it to someone who's done alot of things that go unrecognized, or are hated despite their altruistic intentions like Spiderman or Daredevil. So I guess Vash fits that category, but in a more general way from what I've seen from the show.

In a way it would be focussed on one person. Because Vash and Knives are essentially the same person...just mirror opposites.

I'll do two cuts of it and have a vote or something to see who likes which better or something. One with just Vash, and the other with Vash and Knives.

I can never choose one and stick with it...I gotta play around with it.

Who knows. It just might work.

Go for it, the worst you can do is fail miserably. ;D But seriously go for it, there have been much harder sells in the history of the AMV.
