To be a bit helpful, don't edit WMM's. I suggest ripping your footage into Huffyuv AVI's and editing them instead.
I suggest you see guides on the main page of the org. They are usually quite helpful in geting you started. It seems like you may be a tad confused to the technical procedure.

If command-lines make you jittery for some reason, then there's a GUI tool built into Windows (2000+, anyway) as well. Try typing ftp://username@ftp.host.net into an Explorer address bar.
