The Golden Laws (Has anyone seen this?)

Post by narcted » Mon Nov 17, 2003 3:25 am

My friends and I went to Japan Expo 2003. There were TWO booths promoting a anime film called The Golden Laws. It is based on a series by Fumiya Sato. They told us this was the number one film in Japan. None of us had heard of it.

Has anyone heard or seen this film?

From the information I gathered, it seems to be a Buddhist film (I am Buddhist) that is being released by the Institute for Research in Human Happiness. There is a book called The Golden Laws:History through the Eyes of the Eternal Buddha by Ryuho Okawa mentioned on the inside page of the pamplet I got. This all seems pretty unusual to me.

This film will be shown in an exclusive engagement at Laemmle's Fairfax Theatre in Los Angeles December 5-11. Shows will be at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 and 10:00. Advanced tickets are on sale for $5, $7 at the door.
