kitty: That's cool! It's always good to see another fan of Battle Angel Alita. Personally I think Alita (Gally, if you prefer the Japanese name) is one of the deepest, most human characters from any story I've ever read. Truly one of my all time favorites. Did you see my tattoo? It's on page 10 of the "ultimate org picture" thread. (just saying in case I screwed up the link) http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... &start=135
And hatter: thanks for the advice. I'm not gonna worry about it just yet though. I don't have a hat like Ido's, and I doubt I could throw together a decent looking rocket hammer in 2 days. I'll keep what you said in mind for next year though.

Oh yeah! I thought the art in the original BAA was great, but then I picked up the first volume of Last Order and turned to the 2-page panoramic shot at the beginning, and my jaw just dropped. Simply the most beautiful art I've ever seen in a manga, and "beautiful" is really the only way you can describe it.
Also, I never liked the original ending to BAA, which is why I'm glad Kishiro decided to write an alternate. Volume 2 should be getting here in the mail pretty soon. I can't wait!

Dude! Your tatoo kicks ass!!! Have you guys read Ashen Victor? When I first read BAA, I fell in love with Ido. I thought he was so sweet, I couldn't stand it.It's so sad how he dies, and then that proffessor guy, in the last graphic novel, uses Gally's memories of him in an attempt to drive her insane. BAA is one of the most influential manga I've ever read. It changed my view on how to write manga. Don't worry, though, I don't steal any of Yukito Kishiro's ideas.

I was hoping you'd like it. I'm just worried that one day I'm gonna run into someone who says something like: "OMG, you've got a comic book character tattooed on your back? You suck!"ansem'skitty wrote:Dude! Your tatoo kicks ass!!! Have you guys read Ashen Victor? When I first read BAA, I fell in love with Ido. Ido was cool, but Gally is still my favorite character from that series, maybe my favorite character of all time. But I hate Desty Nova (the other professor from Tiphares). He is such an unbelievable bastard, although he makes a damn good villain. I thought that "contingency clause" he had in Last Order was kinda cheap though. If you haven't read any of it yet, I won't spoil it for you. I ordered Ashen Victor along with volume 2 of Last Order; according to the ups website, they should both get here tomorrow!
